2018 Jeep Compass Sport Review
The 2018 Jeep Compass Sport is the entry to the Compass lineup. It offers an upscale cabin, a solid off-roading capability, and plenty of power.
Drivers in Mt. Union, Cassville, and Huntingdon can learn more about the 2018 Jeep Compass Sport with our detailed model review.
The Compass Sport comes with a 180-horsepower four-cylinder engine that mates to a six-speed manual transmission or an optional six- or nine-speed automatic transmission. This engine is powerful and capable, pairing well with the sharp handling and road manners of the Compass.
Off-road is where the Compass Sport excels, however. Unlike its competitors, the Compass Sport lives up to the legendary Jeep name and tackles the trails with ease, thanks to its exceptional ground clearance and specialized four-wheel-drive system. The Selec-Terrain® system comes with the four-wheel-drive system as well, which has selectable drive modes to adjust for sand, mud, snow, and normal driving conditions.
The Compass Sport comes with a 5-inch touchscreen Uconnect® infotainment system with Bluetooth® compatibility, which is one of the easiest systems to learn and use. With the Bluetooth® addition, you can stream music from up to 10 smartphones, or available apps, through the vehicle’s onboard system for virtually limitless enjoyment on the road.
With Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ smartphone integration, you can use your smartphone’s capabilities to enhance your drive. Smartphone app features such as Apple Music®, Apple Maps, Siri®, Google Maps™, and Google Play Music™ are paired with the Uconnect® infotainment system.
Despite the compact size, the Compass Sport has a roomy interior that can easily accommodate tall adults. Regardless of seating position, passengers have ample head- and legroom to stretch out and relax, and the contoured seating is comfortable over long distances.
In the cargo bay, the space is 27.2 cubic feet with the seats upright. With the seats folded down, the area expands to 59.8 cubic feet of space that can move camping gear, sporting equipment, luggage, shopping bags, and just about anything else you want to haul.
